Mount Shasta
This morning I feel it is time to try to share my experience of the last few days at Mount Shasta. Maybe I'm getting nudged to do it today as it is the feast of Mary Magdalene, and it seems relevant, maybe I'm just ready to share whereas I wasn't until now. It took me a while to start to integrate my time on Mount Shasta and attempt to put it into words. Most likely, I found it hard to express because my vocabulary isn't rich enough to turn something that, ideally, one has to feel and experience, rather than read about.
Mount Shasta is a place like no other. It is the root chakra of the Earth, known as one of the key energy centres of our beautiful planet. It is a volcano, a sacred mountain, that has been revered by our Ancestors for aeons of time and which is still held in the highest respect and reverence by the Native American tribes. Thousands of people from all over the world flock to it to experience its magic every year, soaking up the energy that it has to offer. I wasn’t prepared for it, I was excited to go, yet I hadn't anticipated how profoundly Mount Shasta affects those who come to stay and open themselves to receive.
Apparently Shasta comes from the Russian word Shastia which means happiness. We all spend our lives seeking this state of being, we try to understand what it truly means, we fill the voids and try to plug them with so many things to pretend that we are happy. We work harder, play harder, eat more, drink more, buy more, do, do, do, do more in a never ending attempt to find happiness. Yet it never works, it might do for a moment or two, but it never lasts, for our thirst for more comes back again. Our attempt at finding happiness is never satisfied because we fail to see that happiness is a state of being, not doing or having. And that's what Mount Shasta teaches you above all else. It brings you back to the present, it shows you who you are, it uncovers the real you, it strips you naked of all your masks, it offers you a full reset, and when you have let go of what you no longer needs, when you have dropped all the personas you have forged through your life's journey, you can stand on the mountain, heart to heart with this majestic being, opening your heart to reconnect the parts of you that have disconnected over time. You can unify within your heart the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine into a Sacred Union and become One. You can feel the One Love you come from and are made of, you can experience it inside of you and all around you, you become part of everything, you are everything.
The mountain, the waterfalls, the beauty, the physical energetic properties of this area of the world help you find YOU. They help you discover who you are, who you truly are, the authentic you and reach a state of being that is "happiness" ( in the true and long lasting meaning of the word, not dependent on events, situations, people or material things).
For me it meant a coming home to the unconditional love that we are, to the essence of who we are, to the “I AM” presence, it was about finding it in myself and reconnecting to it.
What Shasta showed me was so profound it shook me to the core of my Being. It held a mirror up and told me that the process that was happening for me by coming with an open heart and no preconceived ideas was not just for me, but rippling out to the Collective, my experience was opening the doorway for others to do the same in their own time, in their own way.
I will go into a bit more detail of the process that took place on the first full day I had there, if you are interested to read it below, but it isn't necessary if you feel you've already got what you needed and just want to see the pictures.
On the first day we visited three sacred spots with a wonderful spiritual guide who has lived in Shasta for years and was absolutely amazing in what he offered us during the day. We held ceremonies and meditated in each of the sacred sites.
Letting Go:
The first sacred site we visited was Faery Falls at the foot of Mount Shasta. We did a ceremony using the Ho'oponopono Hawaiian prayer we all know in English and then in Hawaiian. We set the intention of releasing and letting go of anything that no longer served us, and walked to the waterfall and stood under it to allow the water to flush it all out, to wash it all away, taking it downstream in the flows of sacred waters.
The water was icy cold and the shock of the water meant we were fully present, asking for the water to do its magic and cleanse and clear us. It was immensely powerful and freeing, nothing came to our consciousness, there was no need to recall events or trauma, past hurts or conditioning, nothing mattered, it just flowed away with the water, happening effortlessly as if by magic. As we walked out of the water, our energy field felt lighter and brighter. It was extraordinary. And even more extraordinary was the snake that withered away, swimming away from us, and resting on the verge watching us from the shore as we did this, reminding me of the Lower World symbol of the serpent in Peru and the shedding we had just done.
Connecting with the One Love:
The next stop was on the actual mountain of Mount Shasta, high up in the forest. We stood by a rock outcrop, a sacred site where American Indian Tribes gather for ceremonies, a place where they connect with Divine Love. In this sacred place we journeyed back to Love, back to the One Love, finding the true essence that is in each of our hearts. Having applied the anointing oil from @PipEssence “Sacred Union” before we started, I held the two Hongshan keys in each hand, each one representing the Divine Masculine and the Divine Feminine. The keys felt as if they took a life of their own, they entered my heart space and started spinning, interlocking with each other, they span slowly to start with and gathered momentum becoming a wheel of merged energy of Divine Love, the Sacred Union of the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine within my Heart. If you can visualise a very fast spinning wheel where you cannot see the inside but the momentum of the spin spills outwards further and further and further. It felt as if the particles of Love were all around me reaching outwards to the whole mountain, and out further to the whole country and continent and outwards enveloping the Earth and into the Cosmos and down into the Earth to the very Core. It was the most expanding feeling of being the One Love, the Oneness, the I AM presence.
I had a dragon palm stone on my lap and it fell off with a thump bringing me back to the present in a flash as I was finishing. When I opened my eyes and watched the vista of the mountain in front of me, I was in awe at the beauty of the Mount Shasta peak exquisitely framed by majestic trees. Everything looked brighter and filled with so much light and beauty. My heart felt so expanded and overflowing with love.
The Vision:
In the last part of the day, we drove up above the treeline, into the arid landscape, high up near the top of the dormant volcano, in a place where the connection to the energy of Saint Germain is strongest. In this fairly bare landscape overlooking the most incredible vista of the mountain ranges, extending as far as the eye could see, we sat and journeyed once more. We set about stripping away all the masks that we wear in this incarnation, all the personas that we have, all the roles that we play as mother or father, son or daughter, boss or employee, friend or carer, whatever it is that we do in our lives and how we behave towards others in the roles that we play as an actor or actress in our own life story. One by one, we let them go and stripped them away to find who we were underneath all the facades we built since childhood. Who is the real you? Who am I? It felt like an undressing, a way of becoming totally naked, yet not in a physical way, the more roles we dropped, the more we found ourselves and eventually here we were just pure essence, pure consciousness, pure light. I am very visual so I could see myself as this very bright light, like a star shining so bright. This is what we all are, underneath it all, under all the exteriors, whether we are caring or grumpy, stressed or chilled, daring or fearful, fun or serious, joyful or sad, once we drop all of the roles we play, we find the true essence, the bit that is unchanging. The truth of who we are. By doing this, we allow ourselves to see and experience how we feel in that state and ask ourselves how we want to live going forward if we were to allow ourselves to be authentic, which version of us we would wish to bring through to be true to us, how to speak and be, how to live authentically from this point forward. It was such a powerful journey of understanding how we touch other people’s lives when we are authentic, how our light, when we allow it to shine, when we are not scared of its brightness, when we stop dimming it to fit in, how our light helps others find their light and open themselves up to the possibilities of reconnecting to who they are and allow them to also live authentically for themselves.
I was hoping to see an Eagle on Mount Shasta and I didn’t, but being above the treeline, high up on the mountain connected me with the Eagle energy in such a powerful way. I felt as if I was the Eagle flying above the world, seeing it as an observer, watching the play of life unfold below, the interconnectedness of it all, the knowing that each and everyone of us matters and counts, and that we all deserve to find that inner peace, that long lasting joy that you can only feel when you find yourself and stop pretending to be what you think you need to be to fit in. You will never be loved because you do something or own something, you will only ever be loved and be LOVE when you ARE, because there is nothing to do to get there, you’ve got it all inside of you. Your heart holds it all.
There you go, I won’t apologise for how long this post is, because Mount Shasta has shown me that I am here to share the truth in my heart unapologetically and that if you have read it up to that point, it means it resonates with you. That is all that matters, plenty of people will have stopped at the first line, and that is good, they didn’t need to read it because it wasn’t for them. So thank you, my dear friends, for allowing me to express my experience using my limited vocabulary, of what Mount Shasta offered me. And please, please, please, if you ever have the opportunity to go, jump at the chance. It is extraordinary and so beautiful in every way imaginable.
So much love from my heart to yours.
